Radiator repair
A cold radiator, a leak, or one that needs moving, replacing or fitting new. All part of the same heating system as the boiler, so it is all part of what I do.
What I cover
- Fitting a new radiator, or an extra one in a room that has never had one.
- Repositioning a radiator, moving it to make way for a new kitchen or a change of layout.
- Replacing an old or damaged radiator.
- Radiator valves, including thermostatic valves that have seized or stopped working.
- Leaks, whether that is the radiator itself, a valve, or a pipe elsewhere in the system.
- Bleeding and balancing, so every radiator in the house heats evenly.
Why no fixed price
Small radiator repairs and installations can usually be done within an hour or so, whereas bigger jobs take a lot longer. There are too many variables to give one generic price for all radiator work. For bigger jobs it is best for me to visit first and then supply a proper quote. For smaller jobs I can usually quote over the phone, so send me a photo on WhatsApp and tell me what you need doing.
Common questions
Do you do radiator work as well as boilers?
Yes. Everything above, fitting, repositioning, replacing, valves, leaks and bleeding. It is all part of the same heating system as the boiler.
How much does a radiator cost to fit or replace?
It depends on whether I am supplying the radiator or you are, and how long the job takes, so I quote it individually rather than give a flat number that might be wrong either way.
What about a leak that is not the radiator itself?
If it is water where it should not be, on a pipe, a valve or a joint in the heating system, I will take the call and take a look.
Do you do general plumbing, like taps or toilets?
No, that is not something I take on. Heating and gas, including radiators, is what I do.
